Mubarak "concludes brief visit to Greece" .. 2010

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has returned home late Thursday evening after a brief visit to Greece at the end of a tour which included a three-day visit to Italy.
President Mubarak met during his visit to Greece with Greek President, Karolos Papoulias and Prime Minister George Papandreou in Athens. The two leaders also discussed a number of international and regional issues of common concern specially the peace process in the Middle East. "The talks tackle the repercussions of the global financial crisis and its impact on Greece in addition to cooperation between Egypt and Greece in the framework of the Union of the Mediterranean," Egypt's presidential spokesperson Suleiman Awwad said. "The talks touched on the latest developments in the Iranian nuclear issue in the light of the recent Turkish-Iranian agreement, and the draft resolution, which is currently under discussion by the UN Security Council to impose new sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.
Awwad pointed out that the two sides reviewed the developments in the situation in Sudan, and the issue of the Nile Basin in the light of signing a framework agreement by five riparian countries. During his visit to Italy, President Mubarak held talks with his Italian counterpart Giorgio Napolitano and Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
